Additional Information

Pioneering metal band Today Is The Day comes to the Hudson Valley for a special free performance April 22 at 8pm in Darkside Records located at 611 Dutchess Turnpike in Poughkeepsie for the Tenth annual Record Store Day celebration!

Led by visionary frontman Steve Austin, Today Is The Day reigns as one of the most unique and influential bands of the past two decades. The band's violent and anthemic style, which blends metal, noise, psychedelia, and rock, has won worldwide acclaim ever since the debut album, Supernova, first hit in the early 90s. Nine studio albums have been released on such labels as Amphetamine Reptile and Relapse -- including modern-day classics like Willpower, Temple of the Morning Star, and In the Eyes of God -- and the band's changing lineup has included such musicians as Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher, who would later go on to form Mastodon. Today Is The Day has toured the world with Motorhead, Helmet, The Melvins, Morbid Angel, Converge, Napalm Death, Neurosis, Eyehategod, Unsane, Coalesce, and many more. Steve Austin has also made a name as a producer, helping create seminal albums for Lamb Of God, Converge, Deadguy, and more.
Today Is The Day is releasing a special 25th Anniversary Vinyl Remaster of “How To Win Friends and Influence People” on a limited edition 10” LP for Record Store Day. It includes the first demo that was never commercially distributed and only available on cassette… until now. The End Records proudly presents a newly remastered version of this important piece of heavy music history on vinyl for the first time ever! Hear a band in it's infancy that were too big to be left in demo level obscurity, who went on to produce some of the most lauded releases in metal/noise-rock history!
Record Store Day was conceived in 2007 as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding indie record stores—the staff, the customers, and the artists—and the special role these independently owned stores play in their communities and across the globe! A wide range of special Vinyl, CD and even Cassette releases are made exclusively for the day, with the majority of the list coming from independent labels and distributors. See the complete list of everything coming out at recordstoreday.com or at darksiderecordsandgallery.com/rsd.
