Additional Information

Join Art Institute Alumni Bayla Arietta as she discusses how she turned her passions into a career in the arts.

Bayla Arietta works primarily in watercolors and gouache depicting whimsical illustrations of botanical and zoological subjects, as well as some portraiture. Bayla has had her work displayed in numerous exhibits across the country, including the Yale Peabody Museum, Missoula Art Museum, and the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington D.C. Her work has been featured on album covers, product packaging, in museum displays, and even on an oil tank along Interstate 95. Bayla takes inspiration from environmental issues, scientific articles, excursions to Alaska, the color brown, and walks in the woods. She currently lives and works in New Haven Connecticut with a scientist, parrot, chameleon, a variety of poison dart frogs, and a snake to keep her company. For more work, follow her on Instagram @BaylaArt or visit her website at www.BaylaArt.com
