The Newburgh Historical Society will continue its popular Heritage Series this year with an afternoon to enjoy the story of local Irish on Sunday, September 21st. The Newburgh Heritage Center will open its doors at 2:00 P.M. to all interested in experiencing the Irish-American heritage. The Society will debut a new exhibit highlighting notable Irish-American figures of the greater Newburgh area. The Newburgh Firefighters Fife and Drum Band will open the event by leading the public into the Center to the sounds of Celtic music. Food and drinks will be available. Raffle tickets will be sold for an “Irish Basket” filled with goods donated by local vendors. The Newburgh Heritage Center is located on 123 Grand Street. Admission is free to the public.
