This hands-on interactive program will teach you how to confidently prepare easy, tasty and healthy meals. Topics will include Home Cooking 101: What makes a meal healthy? Foods That Give You Energy: Plant-based meals and the miracle of micronutrients; Shopping and Saving Solutions: Real life, practical tips for budget-friendly clean eating; Stocking Your Kitchen: Pantry staples for whole foods cooking and Living a Healthy Lifestyle: How we live, move, eat and think. After participants have prepared and enjoyed their own healthy lunch they will be led in a mindfulness exercise and a relaxing activity by Support Connection Peer Counselors Marlene Stager and Robin Perlmutter and will end the afternoon with meditative peacefulness.
