The Marlboro Fire Dept is holding Family Safety Day on October 11th, 2014 from 9AM to 4PM at the Marlboro Fire House. This free event is open to the public. This event gives the public the opportunity to interact with firefighters, EMS, police officers and others in a friendly non-emergency setting.

Over 15 different agencies are scheduled to attend including:

Marlboro Police Dept Car –Car seat checks, Free gun locks
Marlboro Fire Dept – Several demos, tours of fire trucks and station
Marlboro Highway Dept – Highway safety
Ulster County Sheriff’s Office –Child Safe ID Cards
New York State Troopers –Seatbelt Convincer
Operation Life Saver –Railroad crossing safety
Central Hudson – Electrical and storm safety
NYS DOT – HELP Truck, highway safety
NYS DEC – Forest Rangers and spill control
NYC DEP – Water Safety and SCUBA equipment
1st Care – Health and wellness
George M. Carrol – School bus safety
Ulster County Health Dept – Health and wellness
Dig Safe NY – Excavator Safety
American Red Cross – Disaster Preparedness

Demos and activities include: Auto extrication using the Jaws of Life, Car Seat Installation and checks, free giveaways, a junior firefighter scavenger hunt, tours of the fire station, OPERATION SAFE CHILD ID Cards, Fire Engine Tours, HELP Truck, take a ride on the NYSP Seatbelt “Convincer”, and learn personal and public safety tips for various agencies.
