This forum will address lymphedema, a potential side effect of breast cancer surgery and radiation therapy. It occurs when too much lymph collects in any area of the body. Bring your questions, and hear our speakers address the following questions and topics: What is lymphedema and why does it occur? What is the incidence of lymphedema after breast cancer? What are some of the risk factors? What is Axillary Web Syndrome? Why does it occur after breast surgery? How is it treated? The use of pre-operative baseline measurements, such as the “L-Dex.” Surveillance recommendations and risk reduction practices.
