If you're a Verizon Wireless customer in Dutchess County and need emergency services, you won't be able to reach the region's 911 dispatch center, according to a press release issued by the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response (DCER).

Verizon customers who need to report an emergency should call 845-486-6560 to be connected with the Dutchess County 911 dispatch center, the DCER release said.

Verizon is investigating the cause of the outage affecting the Mid Hudson region.
