Eight Year Old Steals Van, Drives to McDonald’s for a Snack

The kid just wanted his Happy Meal.

So, and 8 year-old boy from Ohio allegedly took his father's vehicle for a spin while his parents were asleep. Police in East Palestine say the incident happened Sunday night when the young driver was spotted cruising with his younger sister on their way to a local McDonald's.

The Morning Journal says the boy watched Youtube videos so he could get some tips on how to drive. Seems he did quite a good job. Witnesses say the boy followed all traffic laws, and made sure to stop at every red light.

This already makes him better than a lot of adult drivers.

Obviously, police had received a number of phone calls about a little kid driving a van down a busy street, so they followed the boy as he got to Micky D's. The boy was upset when police intervened, as he told them that he was simply hungry and wanted a cheeseburger.

The little kid ordered his sister chicken McNuggets and some fries, and even paid with money from his piggy-bank.

East Palestine Patrolman Jacob Koehler praised the kid's driving skills:

He didn’t hit a single thing on the way there. It was unreal.

The boy and his sister were picked up by their parents at the police station. No word if he ever got to finish his cheeseburger.
