A Dutchess County who was charged earlier this year for having sexual contact with a minor is now accused of possessing drugs and a weapon.

On Thursday, New York State Police From Dover pulled over 19-year-old Michael J. Azzarito of Amenia for allegedly speeding on Old Route 22. Police say, following an investigation the teenager was found to be in possession of psychedelic mushrooms and a dagger.

Azzarito was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor.

In Jan. of 2016, Azzarito was accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a child who was under the age of 15-years-old. He was was charged with second-degree criminal sexual act, a class D felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor

Azzarito was arraigned in the Town of Dover Justice Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
