Dutchess County Man Charged With Sexual Assault of Teen

A Dutchess County man allegedly supplied a teen with alcohol and sexually abused her while she was sleeping. 

On May 29th, 2017 state police arrested Jake Wheeler, 25, of Amenia, NY and charged him with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Sexual Abuse in the first-degree, a Class D Felony.

The arrest stems from a report that Wheeler supplied a 16-year old alcoholic beverages and then had sexual contact with her while she was sleeping at his apartment located in the Town of Amenia.

Wheeler was arraigned and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail, or $40,000 bond.

Wheeler is scheduled to return to court this week. An Order of Protection was issued ordering him to refrain from all contact with the victim.
