Police say that 33 year old Marcos Ortega of Little Egg Harbor, NJ hit a 61 year old pedestrian with his car. What happened next is unbelievable. According to reports, Ortega fled the scene and drove a mile and a half with the man still lodged halfway through the windshield.  According to Vocativ, Ortega was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash and causing serious bodily injury to another while driving under the Influence. Police pulled Ortega over after he passed an officer "with what looked to be a body on the front of his car". Fire department and first aide officials were called to extract the 61 year old man from the windshield. He was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with serious injuries. The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office later determined Ortega to be "impaired".

On Monday, November 10, 2014 at approximately 6:39 pm, Ocean Township Police received information that an erratic driver was traveling northbound on Route 9. While attempting to locate the erratic driver, Patrolman Kyle Flatt observed a vehicle travelling north on Main Street, at approximately 6:44 pm, with what appeared to be a person lying on the hood of the vehicle. Patrolman Flatt immediately initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Dolphin Way. Upon approaching the vehicle, Patrolman Flatt observed a person halfway through the vehicle’s windshield.
