Jail is probably not a place you want to bring any drugs or illegal paraphernalia. Not even into the parking lot of the jail.

According to a New York State Police press release, 50-year-old Zulma Diaz was arrested on Saturday in the parking lot of the Ulster Correctional Facility parking lot on Berme Road in the Town of Wawarsing.

Police where called to the facility to investigate suspicious activity in the parking lot of the jail and after a probable cause search of a car, drugs, scales and cash were found.

Arrested on the scene was Bridgeport, CT, resident Zulma I. Diaz. She was found to have approximately 19 grams of cocaine, a small quantity of marijuana and two digital scales. Police also found a large amount of cash in the vehicle.

Diaz was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Felony, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a Violation.

She was sent to the Ulster County Jail with set at $20,000.00 cash or $50,000.00 certified bond. She is due back in the Town of Wawarsing Court on Sept. 30th.
