Well, this is quite ironic.

Police in Albany say that the driver of a box truck full of alcohol, that rolled backward down a hill and into a downtown building Monday night has been charged with driving under the influence.

A police spokesman said that 55 year-old Lanthony Colbert, of Albany, also was cited for aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to stay in lane. Police officers questioned Colbert at the scene, administered field-sobriety tests, handcuffed him and took him away in a patrol car. He was issued appearance tickets and released.

The Times Union in Albany reports that broken bottles and alcohol were scattered onto the sidewalk and the intersection after the truck rolled into the headquarters for Ostroff Associates, a local lobbying firm.

The owner of a nearby cafe told the Times Union that the truck was full of stock removed through the rear entrance of a nightclub that closed when its liquor license expired at the end of August. An employees of the business that owns the truck claimed they had minimal details beyond having been told the driver was having trouble with the truck's transmission.

There were no apparent injuries. The truck was later towed.
