On Tuesday, the Ulster County SPCA and Shawangunk Police Department removed several animals from a home in Pine Bush. According to a press release from the Ulster County SPCA, an investigator visited the home after receiving a complaint concerning an improper dog shelter.

After arriving at the scene, Investigator Hauspurg of the UCSPCA discovered extremely poor living conditions that were affecting the lives of over a dozen animals. Some 11 dogs, 24 cats, six birds and a goat were all removed from the property. The animals were suffering from neglect and illnesses caused by many factors including debris and heavy ammonia content in the air of the home.
