A cab driver fought off an armed robbery attempt after picking up two men in a apartment complex in Monticello.

The driver drove to the back of the apartment complex to make the pick-up, and two men entered his cab. Upon entering one of the men pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at the driver, and demanded money, according to The Times-Herald Record.

The driver wasn't having it, and wrestled the man for the handgun. Luckily the driver was able to exit the vehicle, according to police.

He then slammed the suspect's arm in the door, and both men ran off and back into the complex.

The police were able to recover the handgun, which was a realistic looking air pistol. The men are still on the loose. The armed suspect was a 5'8" black male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans and had a white and black bandanna covering his face at the time.
