Does The Hudson Valley Prefer the Ocean or the Lake?

With the kick-off to summer just days away we thought we'd settle the age-old debate once and for all: ocean or lake?

There are two distinct groups of people in the Hudson Valley. Those that vacation at the beach and those that head up to the lake. As an ocean guy, I've been in some heated debates with lake lovers over the virtues of the beach. Whether it's the Jersey Shore, Maryland, Cape Cod or The Outer Banks, to me you just can't beat the ocean.

There's something to be said about the sound of the waves, the smell of the salt air and the breeze coming off of the ocean. But don't try to explain that to a lake lover. They'll only focus on the terrible beach traffic, how swimming is so much better in lakes, not to mention waterskiing, boating and partying on the water.
