Do You Dress? Or Stuff?

I'm not sure if there really is a difference between stuffing and dressing.  From what I've read, the ingredients are the same, but stuffing gets cooked inside the bird.  I think it's really just what you grew up with, no matter how it was cooked.  In my house, we always had stuffing, not dressing.  We ate dinner, not supper.  And we had a basement, not a cellar.  I'm not even sure if it's a regional thing, because we had friends in our neighborhood that had cellars, and ate supper.  So, did you grow up with stuffing or dressing?  Either way, I hope yours is delicious, and eaten with good friends and family!
