Police just outside the Hudson Valley responded to a report about a burning dinosaur. The dinosaur didn’t survive, officials say.

Last week Leonia Police, in Bergen County, New Jersey shared a photo on Twitter of a dinosaur at the Field Station Dinosaur Park as it was covered in flames.

"Report of a dinosaur on fire today. That was definitely a first for us," officers joked on Twitter. "Sadly the dinosaur did not survive."

According to Pix 11, the attraction that caught on fire was the biggest moving dinosaur model in the world. The Dinosaur Park moved from Secaucus to Leonia and is scheduled to open up at its new location this weekend.

The Leonia Fire Department quickly put out the blaze. There are no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Only the one dinosaur attraction was destroyed. The other models made it through the blaze unharmed.

Quick-witted police, on Twitter, added the surviving dinosaurs, “refused to give a witness statement.”
