Your morning energy comes at a price, and that price just went up.

According to USA Today, Starbucks has raised the prices of their coffee across the country. The new prices began on Tuesday, June 5. Starbucks has raised the prices of their brewed coffee by 10 to 20 cents. The price increase depends on the market.

USA Today cites a 12-ounce hot coffee as going from $1.95 to $2.15, a 20 cent increase.

However, it's reported that other drinks aren't affected by the price change. So lattes, cappuccinos, iced coffees, iced teas, and basically everything else haven't gone up in price at Hudson Valley Starbucks.

Last week, Starbucks closed 8,000 stores across the country for racial bias training. Did this loss of revenue for one day cause the price increase? According to USA Today, no. A spokeswoman for the company said the two are unrelated, and that the inflation is in line with other dining out food costs.
