According to the BBC, Dick Balharry has died. He was 77. Balharry was a renowned Scottish conservationist who lost a battle with cancer just days after receiving an award from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society (RSGS) for his services to conservation.

In a statement from RSGS chief executive Mike Robinson, he said "Dick was a warm and generous character and a relentless and passionate advocate for improving and protecting Scotland's natural landscapes".
