The World Series is off and wages are being made.

Mayor Bill de Blasio and two more New York officials are backing the New York Mets all the way.

De Blasio wagered a Junior's Cheesecake with Kansas City's Mayor Sly James if the Mets win over Twitter on Tuesday. Mayor James countered by offering Kansas City's best BBQ dish and requested that de Blasio sing The Beatles song "Kansas City" if the Royals win the 2015 World Series. De Blasio accepted and added that James should sing "New York, New York" if the Mets win.

Also, Senator Charles Schumer and Rep. Grace Meng announced that they would wear Kansas City Royals jerseys to work if the Mets fail to win. Kansas City representatives, Senator Claire McCaskill, and Rep. Lynn Jenkins agreed to wear the Mets' blue and orange if the Royals lose. In addition, Schumer and McCaskill agreed to give $100 to a charity in the winning team's neighborhood.

The Royals won Game 1 of the World Series 5-4, in a thrilling game that went 14 innings. Game 2 is Wednesday night in Kansas City.
