The Orange County District Attorney spoke to the press today and revealed more details on how he believes accused murderer, Angelika Graswald killed her fiancee.

A body recovered over the weekend was identified by authorities as Vincent Viafore, Graswald's fiancee who has been missing since his kayak overturned last month.

The indictment charges Graswlad with failing to assist her fiancee after he was clearly in danger.

Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced that Graswald has officially been indicted on second degree murder and second degree manslaughter. The charges, as reported by the Times Herald Record, claim that Graswald intentionally killed Viafore by tampering with his kayaking equipment. The DA says that Graswald removed the plug from Viafore's kayak, allowing it to fill with water. Authorities also claim that Graswald tampered with Viafore's paddle, moving it further away from him as he struggled to get out of the water. The indictment charges Graswlad with failing to assist her fiancee after he was clearly in danger and not calling for help in a timely manner.

Statements made to the police by Graswald on the night of the kayaking incident, and later on during the investigation are all being used as evidence in the case put forth by the DA.

The investigation is still ongoing, and eyewitnesses are asked to come forward with any information they may have about the events of April 19 and any other information they may have about the couple in the days leading up to Viafore's death.
