The Orange County District Attorney's Office said Angelika Graswald admitted to authorities that she tampered with fiancé Vincent Viafore's kayak in hopes that he would drown, according to a report in the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Graswald allegedly told investigators she was relieved after Viafore's kayak capsized and he went into the water, saying it "it felt good knowing he was going to die," the report stated. The Orange County District Attorney's Office said Graswald knew she was a beneficiary on two of Viafore's insurance policies and spoke about what she would do with the money after his death, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

The revelations came during a bail hearing in Orange County Court on Wednesday in which Graswald's bail was set at $3 million.

Viafore, a 46-year-old Poughkeepsie resident, and Graswald, also of Poughkeepsie, went kayaking in the Hudson River on April 19. His kayak turned over in choppy water near Cornwall-on-Hudson. Graswald said her kayak capsized as she tried to rescue him.
