UPDATE: A Great Britain couple recently purchased a Beanie Baby at a flea market for $15, and they believe that it is a rare limited edition bear worth tens of thousands of dollars.

The story went viral over the weekend, and the couple put the bear up on ebay, asking $29,000.

A leading toy collector doesn't think the couple Princess Diana bear is worth much at all, and has issued a fraud alert warning consumers that the bear isn't worth much, regardless of the production run.

Here is the Fraud Alert Warning.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A couple from Great Britain has hit the jackpot, after purchasing a Beanie Baby at a flea market.

Leah Rogers and Ryan Flanagan were browsing through a flea market, when they noticed a purple bear. Flanagan used to collect beanie babies years ago, and realized that it was a limited edition Princess Diana Di Beanie Baby, as reported by PIX 11.

There were only 100 first edition bears made around the world. They were made 1997 to raise money for the Princess of Wales Memorial Trust, after her tragic death.

The couple purchased the bear for $15, and after checking ebay, they found a listing for $93,000. They have now made their own listing on ebay, selling the bear for $29,000.

Certain markers indicate that a Princess Di bear is not a first edition, like an extra space in the poem or a stamp inside the tag

Will somebody actually pay tens of thousands of dollars for a beanie baby?
