Could Nick Swisher return to the Yankees?

The NY Daily News is reporting that two weeks after being released from the Atlanta Braves, Nick Swisher signed a contract with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and is expected to play Thursday.

Scranton is a minor league affiliate of the Yankees. This gives the 35 year-old Swisher a chance to rejoin the team he helped lead to the World Series in 2009. Swisher played for New York from 2009 to 2012.

There's no place I love more than New York; I think a lot of people know that. I was blessed to experience that, to have such a great relationship with the fans in New York. It's something I cherish very deeply and will have for the rest of my life. There would be nothing better than to get back there, to run out there and enjoy that again.

Injuries have been issue for Swisher since leaving the Yankees. He had surgeries to both of his knees in August 2014. Swisher played thirty games with Cleveland in 2015 before being traded to Atlanta last August.

In four seasons with the Yankees, Swisher batted .268, with 105 HRs and 349 RBIs.
