Could MMA finally be coming to New York state?

Ronda Rousey, the UFC women's batamweight champion, is in Albany and is meeting with Gov.Cuomo and state legislators to bring mixed martial arts to the Empire state. New York is the only state where MMA is prohibited.

Cuomo has hinted that MMA could help bring economic development to parts of the state hit hardest after the recession. He said earlier this month

“This is a big sport, and it’s growing.. It can create jobs and economic growth in the state of New York — and I’m interested in it.
