Cops: Man Stole over $7,500 from Pougkeepsie Business That Employed Him

A former Dollar Tree employee in the local area is accused of stealing over $7,500 from the store he worked at.

New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks charged 33-year-old Nicholas Weber, formally of Poughkeepsie and now of Syracuse, with 3rd-degree grand larceny, a class D felony.

In February of 2016, Troopers were contacted by an Asset Protection manager from the Dollar Tree Corporate office. The complainant advised police that a former Dollar Tree employee, Weber, used his company credit card account and made over $7,500 in unauthorized personal charges.

Weber allegedly made the illegal charges between August 2015 and December 2015.

Weber was issued an Appearance Ticket directing him to appear before the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court on Wednesday.
