Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced that on Thursday, December 21st, three concrete companies pled guilty to felony Criminal Tax Fraud for stealing tax money from the State.

According to Hoovler, Concrete on Demand, Inc., Copour, Inc. and CoMix Inc. all collected NYS Sales Tax which they failed to remit to the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance. The companies pled guilty in court, on the record, and each of the three companies repaid the delinquent tax monies. The total amount repaid by the concrete companies was $780,642.50.

Hoovler said that two managers of the companies pled guilty in Monroe Court on December 11th to tax crimes. 45-year-old David Gross of Kiryas Joel, manager for Concrete on Demand and 43-year-old Kiryas Joel resident David Friedman, manager for Copour and CoMix both pled to Criminal Tax Fraud and received conditional discharges, contingent on the restitution, which took place on December 21st.

According to the DA, his office worked with several other agencies to execute search warrants at multiple locations for the businesses in March.  Five facilities, two of which are in Rockland County and three in Orange County) were searched by investigators from Hoovler's office, NYS Police Investigators, Town of Blooming Grove Police and Investigators from the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance.
