According to the NY Daily News, NY Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced settlements with 30 online companies that sold more than 5,000 illegal toy guns to customers in New York.

Schneiderman says the toy guns violate a NY state law that says that requires toy guns to be brightly colored or have colored striping down the barrel.

Schneiderman's office says that 30 online retailers from around the United States used Amazon.com to get around this law.

Of the over 5,000 illegal toy guns, 1,337 were sold to New York City customers, Schneiderman said.

Over the summer, a number of retailers- a such as Wal-Mart, Sears, Kmart and Amazon agreed to keep realistic toy guns off their shelves in New York state.
