The Times Herald Record is reporting that breakfast meal bags were tossed out at the Monticello Central School District, Tuesday morning.

Well, the Record reports that four cockroaches were found in two of the pre-prepared meal bags. according to the district’s website. The insects were found Tuesday morning in two meal bags that were given to students at Robert J. Kaiser Middle School. Teachers took and threw away any other bagged meals given to students, according to the Times Herald Record. The district’s Food Service Department also threw out any remaining bags “in an outside garbage container".

Monticello Central School District says its head custodian has already started an investigation to see how the cockroaches got into bag and how to fix the situation. School officials say that district says it is “confident” that students’ health was not harmed by the meals and that it was a “unique incident.”
