The new Chipotle restaurant in Fishkill will open about a year from now.

The Poughkeepsie Journal says that the Town of Fishkill planning board has approved a new site near Route 9.

David Livshin, president of the Dagar Group and managing agent for the property owner, says the restaurant will take about six months to construct.

First, they have to get approval for a permit with the board. Of course, this and the planning takes some time.

The new building, which will also house a new Five Guys Burgers and Fries should be open by the summer of 2017.

Right now, the closest Chipotle restaurants to Dutchess County are in Kingston, Middletown, the Woodbury Commons, and Danbury, Connecticut.

A planned location in Newburgh on Route 300 has been put on hold indefinitely.
