If you have been in the area for more than 10 years odds are you visited the Catskill Game Farm. The game farm closed in 2006 and now its owners are looking to reopen.

According to the Daily Freeman, Ben and Cathy Ballone are looking to open the over 200 acre property as an RV park, campground and a petting zoo soon.

The Ballones bought the property in 2012 and have had dreams of reopening ever since. They told the Daily Freeman they are convinced people still will want to visit the campground. They have had the tough task of cleaning up the grounds which have pretty much gone untouched for almost 10 years. With that in mind the couple is looking for the public's help. You can volunteer to help and you can also make a money donation. Cathy told the Freeman,

“Every bit of money we’ve received so far has gone into getting it cleaned up.”

While the cleanup continues the couple does have one event that goes on alternating Thursdays. It's a musical gathering and an optional pot luck dinner. The next one is scheduled for June 18 at 6PM.
