Cashless tolling begins this weekend on the Tappan Zee, though it's debut has been pushed back twenty four hours.

The new operating system nows goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. Sunday due to the expected rain Friday evening. Crews will need to have the pavement dry for restriping, so the start date was pushed back.

The Times Herald reports that he toll plaza goes down to one E-Z Pass lane and two cash lanes an Saturday night at 11 p.m. More lanes will open early Sunday morning, with eight total by 6 a.m.
