He's charismatic and endearing, he was chosen by the Pope to be the Archbishop of New York, and he was in the Hudson Valley on Thursday.

With all of the heartbreaking stories about arrests and deaths involving substance abuse, the Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange County have expanded and enhanced the substance abuse treatment and prevention services at their Monticello location and introduced additional human services to Sullivan County.

In a ceremony at Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange County’s Monticello location this week, His Eminence Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, provided a blessing and welcomed the not-for-profit human service agency’s Sullivan County staff to the Catholic Charities family. Local community leaders were on hand to greet the Cardinal and celebrate Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange County’s one year anniversary in Sullivan and the continued expansion of services in the County.

They will provide emergency relief services to individuals and families coping with homelessness, hunger, destitution, and/or marginalization. Immigration Services provides assistance to individuals going through the citizenship process or issues related to documentation. The Resource Exchange, new to Sullivan County, will help individuals and families access donated furniture, household items, and other basic necessities that will help improve quality of life.

You can find them at 11 Hamilton Avenue, in the former Bennett House.  The campus includes a 16-bed primary care unit, 30-bed halfway house, and 24-hour crisis center/detox unit. A gambling addiction program and outpatient services are also available. If you need help, please call 845-794-8080.
