A man has been shot and killed in what is being characterized as a police-involved shooting in Middletown.

According to ABC News, police in Middletown were responding to a domestic dispute on Wednesday evening at approximately 6:50pm on Overlook Drive when the incident occurred.

Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler confirmed to the Times Herald Record that the shooting was a fatality and that his office was now investigating the situation with the assistance of the State Police.

There will be a press conference at 1pm on Thursday from the State Police barracks in Middletown where Police Lt. Gregory Metakes is expected to release more information about the shooting
