Police say a man was pulled from the Hudson River today after jumping from the Mid-Hudson Bridge.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that police responded to a report from someone at Kaal Rock Park in Poughkeepsie just before 3pm. They claim to have witnessed the man jumping from the Mid-Hudson Bridge.

The man was recovered from the river with help from the Poughkeepsie Fire Department and transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital. The alleged jumper was pronounced dead soon after arriving at the hospital.

Police are not yet releasing the person's identity until family is notified.
