The Boris & Robyn Show has spent the last year tirelessly trying out new and unique food items so you don't have to.

Sometimes, these foods have been a pleasant surprise. Other times, they've been a disgusting nightmare. In November, we conducted our yearly "Pumpkin Spice" week, tasting every strange pumpkin spice flavored food we could find. When Twinkies introduced their limited-edition pumpkin spice version, only available in Ohio, we had them flown in for what we thought would be a disgusting taste test. But, honestly, they were pretty good.

Not Your Father's Root Beer became a "thing" over the summer. Every store in the Hudson Valley quickly sold out of the alcoholic root beer as word of mouth spread about how great it was. Because we had built up a reputation for trying out different foods and beverages on the air we received a deluge of requests from listeners to do a segment on Not Your Father's. After hunting some down we did our taste test, but honestly, we didn't understand the appeal.

One of the most popular taste tests we did this year was for Lay's Potato Chips' mystery flavors. For the second year, Lay's released four different potato chips for fans to vote on. This year, however, they made the flavors a mystery. We didn't even come close to guessing the right flavors, but that wasn't the worst part. Not only could we not figure out what the taste of chip number two was, we were left wondering why they tricked us into eating such a disgusting chip. Seriously, this was the most disgusting thing ever.

If you're really curious what disgusting flavor number two really was, you can check out our recap here.

Putting our tastebuds on the line for our listeners is one thing, but what our bodies went through with the Burger King Halloween Whopper challenge in October was beyond anything we ever signed up for. After Burger King released a special "spooky" Whopper made with black-colored buns word quickly spread on social media that the dye in the buns was turning people's poop a disturbing color green. At first we thought it was a hoax but as we soon found out, this was no joke. All of us (with the exception of Robyn who abstained from the challenge) lived through the most stomach-churning 48 hours you could imagine:

Of course, there were plenty of other taste tests and food challenges that we endured over the past year. You can catch up with all of them on the official WPDH YouTube Channel. And be sure to subscribe while you're there so you don't miss the new taste tests that await us in 2016. Hey, somebody has to do it.
