The Poughkeepsie Police Department and Fraternal Order of Police will be holding a blood drive this coming Monday, February 23 to pay tribute to Detective John Falcone.  It was four years ago that Falcone, an 18-year-veteran of the police force, was killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic violence incident.

The blood drive is “one way in which to bring all parts of our community together to honor this fallen brother and hero,”  Mary Ellen McCue of the Fraternal Order of Police told Mid Hudson News.com. “It is also a way in which to keep his memory alive while helping people in the Hudson Valley; giving the gift of life through blood donations.”

The drive will be held at the Italian Community Center at 227 Mill Street in Poughkeepsie from 1-7pm.  To make an appointment to donate or for more information call 1-800-RED CROSS
