After a rough day losing not only Curtis Granderson, but also Robinson Cano to free agency, the Yankees delivered some good news with the signing of Cardinals slugger (and former Met) Carlos Beltran.

Beltran signs with the Bronx Bombers for 3 years and $45 million. While 37 years old, he still offers the Yankees some hitting power, plus valuable post season experience and leadership. Beltran was interested in joining the Yankees both in 2005 and 2011, before singing with the NY Mets and St Louis Cardinals respectively.

Beltran hit for .296 with 24 HR's and 84 RBI's with the Cardinals in 2013.
