State Troopers helped deliver a baby this morning in the middle of busy rush-hour traffic.

If you were anywhere near exit 16 in Norwalk this morning you probably experienced some traffic delays. The exit ramp was closed after 8am when a woman trying to make it to Norwalk Hospital before giving birth had to pull over before making it to her destination.

The Hour reports that State police assisted the woman until EMS arrived. Emergency personnel were able to get the woman into the back of an ambulance just moments before she gave birth. Both mother and baby are in good health and were transported to the hospital immediately after the blessed event. Traffic also resumed shortly after the ambulance left.
