With friend's like this, who needs enemies?

A 44 year-old Danbury, CT woman pretty much did the unthinkable as she's being charged for allegedly stealing and then pawning off her friend's engagement ring, says the Poughkeepsie Journal.

New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Carla Cardoso for fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony. On July 31, state police investigated the alleged theft at an East Fishkill home. The woman living there reported that her engagement ring was gone and she believed that Cardoso had stolen the ring while she was visiting. The Wappinger Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted the investigation and found that Cardoso had taken the ring and sold it at a Danbury area pawn shop.

Cardoso was released on an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Town of East Fishkill Court Aug. 12.
