A police chase in Newburgh lead to two men attempting to allude authorities by jumping the rooftops. According to the Times Herald Record, police arrested 41-year old Raymond Brown, and 36 year-old Duhane Johnson after both men were later found hiding in an abandoned building. Both Brown and Johnson, along with another man...40 year-old Dennis Richards were charged with possessing more than 16 pounds of marijuana.

Police had initially responded to a report of two armed men standing on the porch of a residence at 72 Johnston St. Both Brown and Johnson fled into the building when officers arrived. Police say Brown and Johnson were seen climbing the roof at the back of the building, with one handing the other a large bag. Officers said they watched as both men ran south on Johnston via rooftops, at one point dropping the bag to the ground.

Richards was arrested after police searched 72 Johnston and said they found another 2 and half pounds of marijuana and over $2,000 dollars. All three men were charged with first- and second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, felonies, and Brown with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.

No weapons were recovered, said city police, who received help from the Orange County sheriff’s deputies.
