Westchester County Police said that an operator of a catamaran power boat on led police boats on a chase, with speeds reaching 100 mph on the Hudson River. The chase started Sunday near the Tappan Zee Bridge and went all the way to Yonkers.

Lohud.com reports that a police boat attempted to stop 48 year-old Marcus Lomghitano, of Highland Mills, for going more than 5 miles per hour in the regulated zone near the Tappan Zee bridge construction area. Police spokesman Kieran O'Leary said that instead of complying Lomghitano instead began speeding south in the 30-foot boat. The chase eventually included a second Westchester County police boat that intercepted the catamaran as it arrived minutes later in Yonkers, O'Leary said.

The officers arrested Lomghitano on charges of reckless operation, failure to obey a police officer and operating an unregistered vessel.
