Another Hudson Valley Park Deals With Garbage Problem

One of the biggest perk of living in the Hudson Valley is the access we have to beautiful parks and trails.

Minnewaska,Mount Beacon, Kaaterskill Falls, Bash Bish and Peekamoose blue hole are just some of the most popular spots in the Hudson Valley for people to visit. It's not only people from the Valley checking out the sites, many times people from the city will travel up to see the beautiful country sights.

With the popularity of these parks comes a lot of traffic and an increase in pollution. Breakneck is planning on shutting down completely for renovations and clean up and Peekamoose recently informed visitors to respect the land.

It looks like another Hudson Valley has fallen victim to excess garbage. The DEC is reporting that they received a complaint about garbage being dumped at the Bashakill Wildlife Management Area in Mamakating.

The officers came across two large bags of garbage and after going through most of it came across incriminating evidence that lead them to a 22 year old man from Wurtsboro..

At first the man denied dumping the trash, but later admitted to the accusations.

He was issued two tickets for Unlawful Disposal of Solid Waste and Depositing a Noisome/Unwholesome Substance on or near a public highway.
