Winter is probably the last thing on your mind right now. With the temperatures approaching 90 F degrees it's kind of hard to think ahead four months. And the with what the Hudson Valley went through last year, who would want to think of the snow and cold?

Well, just when you thought it was over, the latest Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting another brutal winter for the Northeast, with way below average temperatures and above average snowfall amounts. The 224 year-old publication is predicting brutally cold conditions not only in the Northeast, but throughout the Midwest and even the deep South.

The Old Farmer's Almanac claims an 80% percent accuracy rate with it's long range forecasts, though a number of sources dispute this claim. Earlier this week, climatologists warned of a powerful El Nino that could impact much of the Western Hemisphere by late fall to early winter.

Normally, the Northeast tends to see milder, dryer winters during El Nino years so take the Old Farmer's predictions with a grain of salt. But then again, the Old Farmer's Almanac predicted a severe winter last year at this time, and we all know how that turned out.
