And the Most Popular Halloween Costume of 2015 Is…

What will be the most popular Halloween costume of 2015? If you've been watching the news closely, you should have no problem guessing.

Of course, Halloween is still a few weeks away. But if online chatter, social media posts and local costume shop supplies are any indication, there's no doubt that a few costumes will be among this year's favorites.

Donald Trump costumes are already flying off of shelves. In fact, Yandy.com is even selling a "sexy Trump" costume for the ladies. It includes Trump's signature red tie, a sleeveless white shirt, and blue suit complete with sexy shorts.  Donald' hair is sold separately as a wig. Or you could just stick your head in a blender to complete the look.

Another easy target is Kim Davis, the Kentucky court clerk who made headlines this year by refusing to grant marriage licenses to same-sex couples. All that's needed is a simple dress, some long hair, glasses and a smug facial expression. Bring along some friends as a groom and a groom or a bride and a bride to complete the theme.

Another story that made headlines this year was the brutal death of Cecil the lion. Some online stores have been selling costumes of dentist, Walter Palmer. He's the man who shot and killed Cecil and faced backlash of global proportions. The costume can also be upgraded for couples with the other person tastelessly dressed as the dead lion. Animal rights groups such as PETA are protesting the costumes, but it looks like that hasn't slowed down sales at all.

Caitlyn Jenner costumes hit shelves almost immediately after the now-famous Vanity Fair cover hit the magazine racks. Some called foul, but Caitlyn herself has given a thumbs-up to the costume, telling Matt Lauer in an interview “I’m in on the joke... I don’t think it’s offensive at all. I know the community does and they’ve gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. I think it’s great."

Looking for a quick and easy last-minute costume for you and a couple of friends? You could always go the Joyce Mitchell route. Mitchell was recently sentenced to prison for assisting the escape of two murders from an upstate New York jail. All that's needed is a cheap black and white prison costume, some glasses, a blonde wig and a really, really sad look on your face. Grab a couple of orange jumpsuits and your friends could also be David Sweat and Richard Matt, the two escaped inmates. Complete the look with some saw blades sticking out of a lump of hamburger meat, the item Mitchell used to smuggle in the tools used in the jailbreak.
