The reality series "American Pickers" is headed to the Hudson Valley and producers are on the lookout for interesting antique collections and eccentric, local characters.

The popular documentary series, "American Pickers," follows Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz as they travel the country in search of hidden treasures. The two pickers visit people who have accumulated some of America's most interesting and valuable antiques.

The show, which airs on History, has announced that they will begin following leads in our area over the next two months. Mike and Frank are on the lookout for Hudson Valley residents with interesting and unique items. A press release lists some specific things they are looking for including vintage bicycles, toys, unusual radios, movie memorabilia, advertising, military items, folk art, early firefighting equipment, vintage musical equipment, automotive items, and clothing.

Just as important as the items they discover, however, are the people that Mike and Frank encounter along the way. Producers are looking for interesting local characters to be on the show. They also emphasize that the pickers are always excited to find things that they've never seen before and learn the story behind it.

If you have any leads for "American Pickers" in the Hudson Valley just send your name, phone number and a description of the collection with pictures to americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 855-OLD-RUST.
