Officers were called Sunday morning to a wild scene at the Kentucky BBQ Fest, where a woman was struck and burnt by a hot, flying brisket.

WKYT reports that the cooks were preparing their meats for a festival going on that day in the town of Danville, Kentucky. Two of the pit masters were sharing the same cooker when several workers got angry over how long they were taking.

This is when things got a bit crazy.

Danville Police Sgt. Jonathan Courtwright says that an employee at D-Bo’s BBQ then picked up a brisket out of the cooker and tossed it toward an employee from another barbecue establishment known as Firehouse.

This is when the victim was allegedly struck causing burns to her neck, back and shoulder says Sgt. Courtwright. The piece of flying meat was estimated being over 200 degrees.

42 year-old Mike Owings was charged with second-degree wanton endangerment. Police say Mike Owings works for a BBQ company out of South Carolina but he lives near Paducah. He remained in the Boyle County jail Monday afternoon.

Police were not able to recover the "weapon."
