The New York State Department of Transportation is alerting travelers about two major construction projects that will temporarily close busy roads in Dutchess and Orange counties.

The eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 44 in Dutchess County between Burnett Boulevard and Peckham Road will be closed to traffic on weeknights, starting on May 8 from 8pm until 5:30am. The construction will continue through Friday, May 26.

A detour will be provided through Burnett Boulevard, Overocker Road, and Peckham Road while work is being done.

In Orange County, Route 17 will see lane closures near Route 208 at exit 130. in Monroe. The work will continue through May 30 during the day between 9am and 2:30pm.
