Keep your eyes open for celebrities near Beacon today, as film crews take over a local grocery store to shoot scenes for "Homeland."

Early this morning there were reports on social media that something unusual was going on at Key Foods on Main Street in Beacon.  Then, mysteriously, the supermarket's official Facebook page posted an announcement that they would be closed for a "special event."

A Tumblr page dedicated to the series called "What The Homeland?" confirmed the rumors when they posted a call sheet soliciting actors for the scene:

Men & Women, 20s-80s age range, to portray rural grocery store EMPLOYEES AND SHOPPERS IN AN UPSTATE, BLUE COLLAR, WORKING CLASS TOWN. This shoot is scheduled for Tuesday 11/29. We are filming in Beacon, NY.

It's unclear which of the main actors, if any, will be appearing in the scene. Homeland returns to Showtime for thier sixth season on January 16. The series stars Mandy Patinkin and Claire Danes.

Recent legislation signed by Governor Cuomo has extended tax credits to production companies that film in the Mid Hudson Region. So if you can't make it down to Beacon today to try and catch a glimpse of some stars, just wait. It's expected that more and more major motion pictures and television shows will be shooting around our area very soon.
